Brian TaylorDirector of Business Development ServicesBrian joined the firm as an employee in 1969 and was admitted as a partner in 1975 when the partnership of B Holland Taylor & Co was formed. The business was incorporated in 1983 and he was appointed a director of BHT Partners Pty Ltd. Brian is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Certified Practising Accountant as well as a Registered Company Auditor.Brian heads up the Business Development and Consulting division of BHT and works with a number of clients on strategic and business planning projects. He has gained extensive knowledge in many industries over the years and as a result of this accumulated experience he enjoys mentoring and coaching business clients on profit improvement and change management assignments. Brian also strongly believes that client education in business matters is a prerequisite to any business consulting and that is provided by way of in-house client workshops. Melinda McAllisterDirector of Audit & Assurance ServicesWith more than 20 years experience in public practice, including 13 years with BHT Partners, Melinda was appointed a director of the firm in July 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Swinburne University of Technology and is a Certified Practising Accountant. Melinda heads our audit and assurance team.Melinda’s areas of specialisation include audit, business management and taxation services. Jim TyrrellDirector of Accounting & Compliance ServicesJim joined the team at BHT Partners in May 2002 and was appointed a director of the firm in July 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Certified Practising Accountant. Jim’s previous work experience includes 2 years in the tax division of a multi-national manufacturer and 3 years in the Tax, GST, FBT and Superannuation areas of the Australian Taxation Office. Jim heads our accounting and compliance services area.Jim’s areas of specialisation include: • tax minimisation strategies (particularly with the sale of small businesses) • profit improvement plans for all types of businesses • compliance activities regarding specific tax issues such as ATO audits. Bruce HollandConsultantBruce was a founding Partner of the firm, having commenced as an employee of the former business in 1965 and took over ownership in 1969. In 1975 the partnership of B Holland Taylor was formed, which became BHT Partners in 1983. With many years experience in various aspects of professional and commercial business environments, Bruce has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in topics ranging through business management, taxation, superannuation, personal development and consulting. During his career he has gained knowledge in numerous industries including retailing, manufacturing, aged care, finance and professional services. Sharryn CoffieldSenior AccountantSharryn commenced with BHT Partners in June 2007, bringing to our firm over 20 years experience in professional practice. Kathryn HillSenior AccountantKathryn joined the team at BHT Partners in October 1999 whilst completing a degree in accountancy at RMIT. She gained her Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) in 2002 and subsequently became a Chartered Accountant in 2004. Kathryn’s previous work experience includes a role as Assistant Accountant in commercial business. Kathryn works in accounting, taxation, compliance and superannuation.
